Leaf margin is irregular and serrated, typically cordate at the base with cordiform, or heart shaped, blades. Leaves often 3 lobed higher up on the plant, and the shade leaves on the bottom from the lower canopy often are deeply lobed

Leaf shape is cordiform cordate, 3 shouldered to shallow 3 lobed, typically with 3 short tapered ends on the lobes. The margin of the leaf is sharply dentate-serrate (tooth like edges)
